What is VSIB?
The VSIB is the national regulatory and accreditation body for installers of vehicle security and other electronic systems in the after market.
As a member of the VSIB we conform to a code of practice for the installation of vehicle security and after market fitments such as telephones and in car entertainment. Please visit the VSIB website for further details and to view our accreditation.

What is Thatcham?
Thatcham gives category numbers to each section of the security market:
Category 1: Combined alarm and immobiliser system with self-powered siren and two-point engine immobilisation system. Category 1 systems meet Thatcham's toughest testing criteria and is the category usually specified by car insurers.
Category 2: Two-point engine immobilisation system. Offers no interior protection for goods left in the vehicle.
Category 2 to 1 Upgrade: Upgrades a vehicle that has a Thatcham Category 2 immobiliser already installed to a full Thatcham Category 1 alarm system.
Category 5 - After Theft Vehicle Recovery System: Reassurance that your vehicle can be tracked, even if the vehicle is stolen with the keys.
In September 2004 the new Thatcham Cat 5 tracking systems were launched in London. KTD UK Ltd was the first company in the North East to be accredited to fit Cat 5 products by the VSIB and was the first Cobra approved installer in the country.
