We began with an un-modified Mercedes Sprinter van, with a boring interior and nowhere for any passengers. Our job was to turn it into a six person tour bus with room for all their equipment whilst providing a comfortable and spacious passenger area with somewhere for them to work and play when on tour.
The cargo area at the rear of the tour bus was plylined and then fully carpeted. It also featured sockets which were easily accessible and brought electricity to the back of the vehicle.
The bulkhead between the cargo area and passenger area was steel framed to ensure safety for the passengers and all the equipment if there was a crash.
The Interior
Limo-tinted windows were installed on the bus to keep the passengers from any prying eyes outside the tour bus. We also provided blacked-out blinds.
Of course our passengers would need somewhere to sit in comfort and safety, so we installed a set of six seats, three on either side of the passenger area, all with seatbelts and leg room. We also fitted a small cupboard space underneath the seats for any extra
luggage the passengers wanted to keep handy.
Between the seats in the passenger area we installed a removable table. This gives the passengers room to eat and relax while on the move.
The Entertainment System
Two 15.4" flip-down monitors were fitted into the ceiling on either side of the passenger area. Connected to these monitors was a TV input, a DVD changer and a Playstation 2.
Audio was provided through a full Pioneer system which included active subwoofers and amplifiers, ceiling mounted speakers and an integrated iPod interface. This entertainment system was complimented by wireless remote controls and headphones.
LED lights were positioned in the stepwells, under the seats, on the sides of the bus and on the ceiling. The majority of the lights were blue and set a colour scheme inside the vehicle, however, we also fitted a multi-colour light set-up on the ceiling for even more effect!
