Meanwhile, the battery keeps charging and will not run flat.
This prevents hijackers from stealing your vehicle because once the handbrake or footbrake is used the engine cuts out, and you'll have the keys! Only once the keys have been re-inserted, then you can drive the vehicle.

Run lock Keyout system features
- Allows a vehicle's ignition key to be removed while the engine is left running and the driver is in the vicinity of the vehicle.
- When the ignition key is removed the steering lock is automatically engaged, central locking and other security features may still be operated as normal.
- If the handbrake is released or the footbrake operated, the engine will automatically switch off. “Only the vehicle key holder can restart the vehicle engine”.
- Ensures the driver remains in complete control even when he is not actually in the vehicle.
