KTD History
KTD was established in 1996 as a mobile vehicle security installation service. From vehicle security, such as door locks, the company expanded onto more commercial vehicle conversions.
It was only a short while later when KTD were able to plyline, install seating and roof racks to your van. Because of this expansion, the company had to move to a larger premises. Eventually, our Gateshead premises became available and KTD relocated.
From here we were able to set up partnerships with the area's largest vehicle dealerships, such as Renault, Mercedes, Ford, Citroen, Volkswagen, Nissan, LDV, Iveco and many more! KTD are the supplier and installer of choice for over 30 dealerships.
We also carry out vehicle conversions on fleets of vans for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Nationwide Utilities companies. These vehicles have been converted with the likes of plylining, roof beacons and vents, storage and racking systems and roof racks.
With a larger premises, more staff and a huge customer base, KTD expanded even more into the automotive market by supplying and installing towbars, alarms, in-car entertainment, parking sensors, phone kits, storage and racking and wireless vehicle tracking systems.
It was 2002 when KTD UK Ltd became Motability accredited dealers and installers for disabled driving adaptations. Since then, we have been installing products from the top names in the industry, such as: Autoadapt, Ricon, Jeff Gosling, Elap, Techmobility, Brigayd, Alfred Becker, Lodgesons and Braun.
